Neural Networks and Deep Learning, a successful course on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to address problems in all disciplines. The course was attended by 150 students from 30 universities

“Neural Networks and Deep Learning” is one of the most popular courses in the Italian university system. The course, taught by Giorgio Buttazzo, professor of Information Processing Systems at the TeCIP Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, is aimed at PhD students of the School, but is also open to PhD students from other universities. This year the course, held in English and online, was a great success, with 150 enrolled students from 30 Italian universities.
This large participation confirms the great interest inArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, considered very powerful methods for tackling (and solving) a significant number of problems in all disciplines, from engineering to law, from medicine to economics and social sciences.
The RETIS Laboratory and the ICT COISP Center of the TeCIP Institute of the Sant'Anna School have made significant contributions to artificial intelligence, both in terms of training and scientific research, with the aim of increasing its safety and reliability in numerous applications, such as autonomous driving systems, railway systems, and the efficient and sustainable management of complex industrial processes.
